XLOOP(1) USER COMMANDS XLOOP(1) NAME xloop - image looper for X SYNOPSIS xloop [-help] [-v] [-share] [-nsc] [-pause _s_e_c_o_n_d_s] [-inverse] [-display _d_i_s_p_l_a_y] [-in _f_i_l_e_1 _f_i_l_e_2 ...] DESCRIPTION _x_l_o_o_p is an X Window System window image looping utility. _x_l_o_o_p allows X users to display window images that were saved by _x_w_d in a specially formatted dump file. OPTIONS -help Print out a short description of the allowable options. -v This option prints out timing information every 5 loops giving the time per image in milliseconds for each loop. -share The program tries to use the X shared memory exten- sion to sent pixmaps to the server. -nsc This option turns off colormap switching. Normally the program will use the colormap stored with each image. With this option the program will just use the colormap in the first image. This can result in a significant improvement in the speed of the loop. This option also uses the default colormap, changing the pixel values of the image to match vacant entries. Without this option the loop will not appear to have the correct colors on a color display unless the focus (mouse pointer) is in the loop win- dow. -pause _s_e_c_o_n_d_s This option specifies the number of seconds to pause and the end of the loop before starting again. The default is zero. This timing can also be changed via the mouse buttons (see below). -display _d_i_s_p_l_a_y This option allows you to specify the server to con- nect to; see _X(_1). -inverse Applies to monochrome window dump files only. If selected, the window is undumped in reverse video. This is mainly needed because the display is `write white', whereas dump files intended eventually to be written to a printer are generally `write black'. MOUSE BUTTONS The action of the left and right mouse buttons depends on whether the program is in the looping mode or not. The mid- dle mouse button toggles looping mode on and off. If you press the middle button with the Shift key down, the program terminates. In looping mode, clicking the left button increases the per image timing of the loop in 20 ms increments. The right button decreases the timing by 20 ms. With the Shift key down the left button increases the pause at the end of the loop in 500 ms increments. The right button decreases the timing by 500 ms. When out of looping mode, clicking the left button moves the loop backwards one image. If the left button is held down, the program will loop backwards through the images at the last speed set in the looping mode until the button is released. The right button performs the same actions in the forward direction. ENVIRONMENT DISPLAY To get default display. FILES XWDFile.h X Window Dump File format definition file.
