The selected priority legs are based on discussion on 11 Feb 2000 at TRMM Microphysics User meeting. These are the KWAJEX legs to be processed for the May 2000 TRMM Field Campaign meeting in Salt Lake City.

After the formal User meeting, Chris Kummerow added a further criterion that overpasses of interest have to include some signal in the TMI data for the cell being sampled. This eliminated the overpass on 26 Aug 1999 as the cell sampled was too small to register on TMI. The three aircraft flight on 28 August sampled small cells near very edge of the 150 km S-band radar range so that case was also unsuitable.
