Tethered and flux tower measurement systems worked properly. The 17:00, 23:00 (Aug 2 GMT), and 11:00 (Aug 3 GMT) tethered balloon flights were done during mostly fair weather conditions. Due to two back to back convective cells that produced local showers between 05:00 and 06:00 GMT, the 05:00 (early evening local time) flight was canceled. Airborne soundings revealed boundary layer heights ranging from 300 m (around 23:00 GMT) and 600 m (during 11:00 GMT). Temperature within the mixed layer remained around 300 K whereas specific humidity varied between 18 and 20 g per kg.
