DEADLINE: The Atmospheric Sciences
deadline for Autumn Quarter is January 15. Autumn Quarter is the only quarter for which we accept applications.
- For US citizens, a complete application consists of:
- 1. Items to be submitted directly to the Graduate School:
- 2. Items to be sent directly to the Department of Atmospheric Sciences:
- A printed copy of your online application for graduate admission.
- An official copy of your transcripts.
- Assistantship and Fellowship Application
- A "Statement of Interests." This one-page, typed essay must address the reasons why you wish to pursue a
graduate program in Atmospheric Sciences. It should also describe any exceptional experiences and acchievements that
might help to support and strengthen your application.
- GRE scores, sent to us from the Educational Testing Service. We require only the General Exam (analytical,
verbal, and quantitative exam scores).
- Three (3) letters of recommendation - recommendations can now be done online as part of the online application. We encourage this method. Printable recommendation forms can still be downloaded by clicking here. If you choose to print the forms, please have them sent directly to the Department by your evaluators
before the application deadline. Please note: status of recommendations can be checked online by logging into your UW Graduate Application Update page.
- For international applicants, a complete application consists of ALL of the above AND:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores, sent to us by the testing service.
- An official copy of your transcripts sent directly to the Graduate School
