Questions on Droplet and Ice Particle Formation, Lecture 3.3

Suppose fog forms in air that cools to -10 C. The fog consists mainly of supercooled drops plus some drops that have frozen.

(1) Why do some drops freeze while others don't?

(2) Suppose drops are neither growing nor evaporating at this temperature; i.e., the R. H. is about 100%. An ice particle in this fog will (a) grow (b) evaporate (c) neither grow nor evaporate
