1. Sunlight comes down through an atmosphere in which a warm air layer overlies a cooler layer. The light is travelling at 45 degrees to the vertical as it enters the top of the warmer layer. Draw its path as it proceeds downward.

2. Forest fires produce alot of small aerosol particles. During a period of intense forest fires in western Canada people in Eastern Canada saw exceptionally red sunsets. Why?

3. Would you expect to see halos around the Sun more often in winter or in summer?
