Weather discussions will be held during Spring Quarter on Tuesdays at 3:30 pm in ATG 610, and will last ~30 minutes. Students may obtain credit by registering for ATMS 492 (1 credit, CR/NC), although all are welcome to attend. Students signed up for the course will be required to lead discussions, and attendee comments are strongly encouraged.
The format and topic of each discussion is entirely up to the discussion leader. Diversity in the range of topics for discussion is also strongly encouraged. Any topic dealing with the observed state of the atmosphere and/or oceans, on any time scale, is appropriate. Weather discussion can be a very useful forum to learn about the observed structure of the atmosphere/oceans and to apply knowledge gained in research and formal course work.
