Hints and how to's

I prepared a build file for your project at
/home/disk/p/atms380/scripts/bld-shiftIC.csh

and a matlab script to make initial conditions with shifted latitudes
/home/disk/p/atms380/scripts/make_cam_shiftIC.m

First copy the matlab script somewhere and run it. It should be self explanatory.
You will need to make the initial conditions first.

Create a subdirectory for each run you want to do in your /home/disk/p/atms380/$LOGNAME/camruns directory with names following this form: lat60_1deg or lat30_1deg. Copy the build script in each freshly made subdirectory. Edit the build script to set the latitude. Run the build script in each subdirectory and finally submit the run script to the batch queue. For example:

mkdir /home/disk/p/atms380/$LOGNAME/camruns/lat60_1deg
cd
/home/disk/p/atms380/$LOGNAME/camruns/lat60_1deg
cp /home/disk/p/atms380/scripts/bld-shiftIC.csh .

mkdir /home/disk/p/atms380/$LOGNAME/camruns/lat60_1deg/run
(edit the bld-somplanet.csh script and be sure to put your initial conditions file in the run directory before you build.)
bld-shiftIC.csh
(When the build script stops, submit the run script to the queue)
qsub run-cam4.csh




I think you can use the script analyze_ex2_a.m (or recycle scripts from ex3) for your new runs. Let me know if you need help with customizing the figures for any reason.
