About blank maps: Panels are filled when model output or observations becomes available, so check back often. Many models have a 2-week delay between initial time and when output is first available. Some models only initialize on first day of months, so those models are blank at other initial times. Finally, panels are blank after last forecast lead time for a given model.
We have regridded all model output to
NSIDC's polar stereographic projection, but applied no further post processing.
Some forecasts are bias corrected before we acquired them. The Climatological Trend (extrapolation of trend) and Damped Anomaly (persistence) forecasts are benchmark forecasts produced purely from observations. More on forecast source and model information,
