Grads & Undergrads: ENTRE Events and Programs

THIS WEEK’S HIGHLIGHTS!

ATTEND: Resource Night – Session 8: Your Logic – Formulating the Case for Your Business

Tuesday, February 25th | 6:00 to 8:00 PM | Paccar 192

Are you curious about entrepreneurship but not sure how to begin? Attend the Business Plan Practicum “Resource Night” sessions each week and learn the essentials of business planning first-hand from local entrepreneurs.

In the February 25 session, we shift from product and plan to PITCH. In this session, we will discuss the “XYZs” and “123s” of positioning and messaging and discuss how to differentiate your business from others. We will be joined by a panel of marketing experts who will assist the student teams in crafting a brief pitch which will be delivered to the class!

Note: This lecture is part of the Business Plan Practicum course (ENTRE 440/540). The course is taught by John Zagula, founding partner at Ignition Capital. Students are encouraged to enroll in the course to gain access to course materials, office hours, pitch workshops and will have the opportunity to make a final pitch in front of a panel of experts (prizes included!).

Non-students are also welcome to drop-in and learn the essentials of business planning and to hear first-hand from local entrepreneurs. Please note that the first 45 minutes of each evening is a participatory lecture, followed by the featured guest speaker(s).

The Dempsey Startup Competition is open to undergrads and grad students at accredited colleges and universities across the Cascadia Corridor – Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia, as well as Alaska.
