Grads & Undergrads: Student Grants for Research in Climate Science

Are you studying the impacts of climate change?

Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society, invites undergraduate and graduate students to apply for research funding through the Grants in Aid of Research (GIAR) program.

The deadline to submit applications is October 1, 2019 at 11:59 pm Pacific Time. The grants are made possible by designated funds from the National Academy of Sciences and from donations. Students may apply for funding from the program twice each year.

Proposals are evaluated based on scientific merit and how well they align with the funding criteria, including description of the hypothesis, methodologies, budget, and significance of the proposed investigation. Guidelines and a list of fundable expenses can be found here

Interested applicants are invited to watch a recording of Sigma Xi’s Google Hangout, “How to Submit Your Best Grant Application,” to learn about the Grants in Aid of Research application review process.
