Undergrads: D.C. Virtual and On-Site Internships Info Sessions

Are you interested in an internship with a D.C. organization while earning UW credit? If yes, attend a Zoom information session for The Washington Center (TWC):

Fri, Nov 13 2:30-3:20pm Click here to register*
*Time zone on the registration page defaults to Eastern time. On the registration page, click on the time zone to change to Pacific.

TWC runs both on-site and virtual internship programs that are open to all UW undergraduates (all majors welcome) and provides comprehensive service. Placement organizations include government agencies, corporations, nonprofits, museums, arts organizations, and international organizations. Hundreds of UW students have participated in this program since UW’s affiliation in 1977, and many made connections that led to post-degree employment.

At the information sessions a TWC representative will describe the structure of the program and the application process, we’ll cover the cost (including using financial aid) and UW credit, and a recent UW grad who participated in TWC’s Summer 2020 virtual program will talk about her experience. There will be time at the end to answer your questions.

For students who want to go to D.C., TWC’s facilities are accessible to students who have disabilities. In addition, their Disability Services Coordinator will assist with accommodation at the internship and programming sites.

These are the upcoming application deadlines (note that some organizations have earlier deadlines):

Summer 2021: Jun-Aug. Early Application Deadline: Feb 17, Regular Deadline: Mar 17

Autumn 2021: Aug-Dec. Early Application Deadline: Early: April 7, Regular Deadline: May 5
 Spring 2022: Jan-May. Deadlines: TBA

Whether you want to do an internship this year or in three years, come to an information session to learn more.
