Integration of Computer Generation Inc. Xgc Widgets
	      ---------------------------------------------------

This directory contains the files required to integrate
the Xgc widget set into WorkShop Visual 6.0.

Files contained in this directory are as follows:

	README          - These notes.

	Makefile        - creates visu binary with Xgc
			  widgets integrated.

	Xgc.xdc         - visu_config configuration file for Xgc
			  widgets.

	Xgc_stubs.c     - additional code for the Xgc widget
			  integration.

	bitmap*/        - bitmap and pixmap files to represent
			  Xgc widgets on WorkShop Visual widget palette.

	app-defaults/   - Resources for integration.
	visu

	make_templates/ - Makefile templates for building generated
			  Xgc applications


Integrating Xgc widgets
-----------------------

1.  Start visu_config and use the File/Open menu option to load
the Xgc.xdc file.  The following family will be listed:

	HView
	TabBook
	LiteClue
	NaryTree

2.  Select the 'Config file' option from the Generate menu.  The
Generate dialog contains a toggle button for each family.  Select
one or more of these families depending on the combination of
widgets that are to be integrated into WorkShop Visual.  Click on
OK to generate the Xgc_config.c file.  Repeat this procedure for
the 'Code file' menu option to generate Xgc_code.c.

3.  Check that the Makefile has appropriate settings and pathnames
for your system.  Build the WorkShop Visual binary using the following
command:

      make

After the build has successfully completed a 'visu.bin'
executable incorporating the Xgc widgets will have been created in
the current directory.

4.  This binary may be invoked by setting the environment variable
USER_WIDGETS to the name of this directory (i.e. USER_WIDGETS=Xgc)
and invoking WorkShop Visual as normal.

5.  This widget integration can be made the default for your site
by moving or copying this directory to 'local' (including any
bitmap and app-defaults sub-directories).
