Error: This version of S-PLUS was not started with a compatible Splus shell script. If you have recently installed the S-PLUS software, check that the script named Splus was copied into a directory on your shell's search path during this installation. This is part of the normal INSTALL procedure. Then make sure that no other directory on your path ahead of the one written to by the installation contains a file named Splus. Use the UNIX command 'which Splus' to determine which Splus shell script is first on your path. If it is not the one installed by the INSTALL procedure, remove or rename it. S-PLUS cannot function properly unless the (newest) Splus shell script is installed in a directory on your search path, and until 'which Splus' prints this location. Refer to Chapter 1 of the S-PLUS User's Manual Supplement, Version 3.1, "Installing and Setting up S-PLUS".
