Polar climate and sea ice scientist


About Me

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Washington, Seattle.

I am broadly interested in Earth's climate system, with a focus on the polar regions. My research topics include polar climate change and variability, sea ice physics and ocean-sea ice interactions, in both the Arctic and Antarctic. I typically use climate models of varying levels of complexity, in combination with satellite and in-situ observations.

My background is in physics. I hold an undergraduate Masters (MPhys) in Mathematical Physics from the University of Edinburgh. In 2016, I moved to the other side of the world and began working on sea ice modelling at the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research and Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, completing my PhD in 2019.
