- 1.
- Photo by William R. Guest, (former Viking
Computer Facility employee) of the Science Test Lander in the
Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, NASM,
Washington, D.C. Our FC3 lander does not have the
final white paint, since its assembly as a Mars
"Flight Spare" was not completed to save money.
- 2.
- The S-Band antenna
, bolted to the rear of the FC3 body, without
its deployment interface, is shown in the NASM Viking
photo and in silhouette in the Viking panorama.
- 3.
- The Meteorology
boom, painted with its white second layer of
silicon rubber paint, is mounted on the FC3 Lander
- 4.
- An excellent model of the Meteorology Sensor Array, MSA,
created by Chris Vancil, is mounted on the end of the
boom, and is identified in the Smithsonian Photo and
the Mars panorama by "Green Dots".
