This data accompanies the article: Aerenson, T., Marchand, R., When WIll MISR Detect Rising High Clouds? Submitted to JGR in August of 2021 Data is organized as follows: Experiment/model/data type In this file system the observed WCTH for each latitude is in the directory MISR/WCTH/ For the SSP 585 simulation the MISR-COSP joint histograms from each model are provided in the directories marked clmisr, and the temperature and geopotential profiles are in the directories marked ta and zg respectively. For each file the historical run has been concatenated onto the start of the SSP 585 simulation. The Weighted-Cloud-Top-Height calculated from such is provided as well in the directories marked clmisr. The synthetic WCTH calculated from the AMIP simualtions (described in Section 5 of Aerenson et al. (2021)) are in the directory marked AMIP_extensions. The AMIP simulations and the SSP 585 temperature projections from CNRM-ESM5, CNRM-CM6-1, CanESM5, MRI-ESM2-0, and BCC-CSM2-MR are available on the ESGF CMIP6 database. The SSP 585 clmisr output was provided by Brian Meideros (brianpm@ucar.edu) for CESM2, and Helene Chepfer (chepfer@lmd.polytechnique.fr) for IPSL-CM6A-LR.
