Graduate Student

University of Washington

Iana is a first-year graduate student in the Atmospheric and Climate Science department at the University of Washington, Seattle. She is interested in understanding “what makes the Earth tick” with interests in tipping points, carbon dynamics, land-biosphere interactions, and atmospheric chemistry. Iana majored in Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and double-minored in French and Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences (EAPS). Her undergraduate research involved examining Antarctic ozonesonde data to understand the effects of natural phenomena on the Antarctic ozone hole. In her spare time, Iana enjoys reading, learning languages, solving puzzles, or playing lawn tennis.
