Patrick Murphy is a graduate student in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences.

Patrick is broadly interested in the intersection between atmospheric science and societal issues; he is now working on understanding the relationship between wildfires and weather. His present Master’s work leverages high resolution observations of weather and fire emissions in California to understand spatiotemporal relationships, thresholds, and trends between fuels, fire, and weather in that region.
