Lander graffiti covering; Proceeding, evaluate by Fri May 24, and set
tasks so that the minimal are done prior to May 31.
These were done
- Cover the top area with the translucent plastic to covering the graffiti
- Cut more from the roll if it will minimize wrinkles
- Cut out the two camera holes, the biology hole and the hole in
the back, left corner
- Cut out clear plastic to cover these holes, and the top of the
camera pedistal holes
- Make gaskets to hold down plastic at the hole edges, out of thin
metal or 1/8 in artist board or similar
- Make cardboard to cover the graffiti laden edges and side panels
- 22 May: S-Band antenna mounted directly to flange
- 23 May: Rotated lander to complete leg and footpad mounting
- 23 May: Deployed two original lander legs
- 23 May: Third corner strut, to replace lander leg; being
fabricated. Mount 24 May
- 24 May: Mount Meteorology Boom
- 30 May: Third leg support completed and fitted
- 30 May: Made lander outilne in plastic, Chris and I took over to EE. It
fits nicely in the space and we left it there.
- Lander is now sitting on its 3 legs.
