Spring 2009 Graduation Reception Spring 2009 Graduation Reception Thanks to everyone who attended the reception for the 2009 Graduating Seniors. The weather cooperated (for once) and we were able to have the event outside on a sunny and mildly warm June afternoon. We were excited to meet the proud parents and family of this years graduates. Undergraduate Program Curriculum Changes, Winter 2009 In the spring of 2007, the Dept. of Atmospheric Sciences submitted a new curriculum proposal to the College of Arts and Sciences and to the Faculty Council on Academic Standards. The proposal made changes to the core curriculum and to electives within specializations. The application was approved on October 13, 2008 - changes will be effective starting Winter 2009. NOTE - These changes do not affect seniors who intend to graduate in Spring 2009, have already begun the 400-level ATMS courses AND/OR have already submitted a graduation application. Details on changes can be found here. The undergraduate program website has also been updated to reflect the new curriculum. A summary of curriculum prior to Winter 2009 can be found here. Atmospheric Sciences Undergrad Information Meeting Do you like learning about weather and the environment? On Tuesday, Nov 4, the Department of Atmospheric Sciences is hosting an informational meeting and social for any undergraduate student who is interested in finding out more about studying atmospheric sciences. All students are invited to attend, Atmos Sci majors and This will be a great opportunity to find out about exciting possibilities for study in the atmospheric sciences, about different options within the major and also about career choices after graduation. You'll be able to meet Atmos Sci faculty, current majors and staff. You'll also learn about scholarship opportunities. So mark your calendars: Atmospheric Sciences Departmental Hike 2008 The Department of Atmospheric Sciences Hike will take place, dependent upon weather of course, on Saturday, September 27. This year the destination is Tolmie Peak Lookout in Mt. Rainier National Park. Chris Bretherton has generously volunteered to lead the hike.

See you there! Atmospheric Sciences Autumn Social 2008 - Meet our new graduate students. This will be a potluck dinner so please bring a dish to share. Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be provided. See you there! Spring 2008 Graduation Reception To the graduating seniors: You are invited to join us for a reception in your honor as you graduate from the UW and go on to bigger and better things. Parents and loved ones are encouraged to attend. When: Thursday, June 12, 4:30-5:30 Atmospheric Sciences Autumn Social 2007 - Meet our new graduate students.
