GCC 2014

The goal of the Graduate Climate Conference (GCC) is to provide a discussion forum for graduate students undertaking research on climate and climate change in an array of disciplines, including atmospheric, biological, earth and ocean sciences, social sciences and humanities. This is a climate science research conference organized by graduate students for graduate students. The format is designed to encourage new climate scientists to become acquainted with the details of diverse areas of climate research and to place their own research in the broader context of the climate science community. Lodging and accommodations will be covered by the conference for all participants and travel funding will be awarded to as many graduate students as possible.

History

GCC 2014 will be the 8th GCC. The conference was first organized by graduate students at the University of Washington in 2006. As the conference grows in demand and scope the responsibility of the GCC rotates between graduate institutions including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.  This GCC will continue to provide a range of session topics that will help future leaders in climate science meet and share ideas.
