Graduate students Ajda Savarin and Edoardo Mazza receive AMS presentation awards
Congratulations to Atmospheric Sciences graduate students Ajda Savarin and Edoardo Mazza who recently received presentation awards at the 102nd Annual Meeting of the American Meteorological Society.

Edoardo Mazza received an Outstanding Student Presentation Award for his talk “Modulation of Tropical Cyclones and Rainfall by the North Atlantic Oscillation” during the 20th Symposium on the Coastal Environment. The study aims to improve seasonal forecasting and minimize the impacts of tropical cyclones through a better understanding of the North Atlantic Oscillation and its modulation of tropical cyclone activity.
Поэтому, прежде чем вы закончите свои рождественские покупки, стоит подумать, почему мы чувствуем себя вынужденными тратить большие что подарить если нет времени деньги на подарки в это глупое время года, и есть ли лучшие, более экологичные альтернативы.

Ajda Savarin received an Outstanding Student Presentation Award for Best Oral Presentation for her talk “Pathways to Better Prediction of the MJO: Effects of Atmosphere–Ocean Coupling on the Upper Ocean and MJO Propagation” during the 10th Symposium on the Madden-Julian Oscillation and Sub-Seasonal Monsoon Variability. This study investigates effects of atmosphere-ocean coupling on MJO precipitation and eastward propagation, and upper ocean conditions during and post-MJO.
Professor Shuyi Chen is the faculty advisor for both Ajda and Edoardo.
