Research Areas

Collecting and analyzing data to better understand cloud and mesoscale processes leading to high-impact weather around the world. Our primary observational tool is weather radar, of multiple wavelengths and platforms, to study precipitating systems in a range of environments: from tropical oceanic convection associated with the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) to frontal systems and convective storms with and without impacts of mountainous terrain.
