Undergraduate Dylan Logan selected as a Bonderman Fellowship winner!

Congratulations to Atmos Sci undergraduate student Dylan Logan on receiving a Bonderman Fellowship!

UW students traveling with this $20,000 fellowship set off on journeys that are at least eight months long and take them to at least two regions of the world. While traveling, students may not pursue academic study, projects, or research. Established in 1995, this fellowship aims to expose students to the intrinsic, often life-changing, benefits of international travel.

Sophomore Surabhi Biyani has been chosen as a 2019 NOAA Hollings Scholar

Congratulations to sophomore Surabhi Biyani, she has been chosen as one of the 2019 NOAA Hollings Scholars.

Additionally, graduating senior Dave Bonan is also a Hollings Scholar, as was Eliza Dawson.

Ajda Savarin wins the AGU Outstanding Student Presentation Award!

Adja Savarin’s presentation title, Diurnal Cycle of Precipitation and the MJO over the Maritime Continent: “Tug of War” between the land and sea, is prestigious award is only granted to the top 5% of student participants.

WHAT IS OSPA?
The OSPA program provides student presenters (both poster and oral) at AGU meetings the opportunity to receive critical feedback about their research and presentation skills.

WxChallenge forecasting competition

Undergraduate student Peter Brechner won first place in the WxChallenge forecasting competition spring tournament. Congratulations Peter!
