The Northwest Weather Workshop covers recent developments in understanding Northwest weather, major weather events of the past year, and topics dealing with western U.S. climate and meteorology.
It is open to anyone interested in Northwest weather and climate.

Ben Barr received 2nd place for student oral presentations for his talk “Multiscale Air-Sea Interactions in Hurricanes: From Sea-State Dependent Sea Spray to Surface and Boundary Layers in Coupled Atmosphere-Wave-Ocean Model Simulations”, during the 23rd Air-Sea Conference.
UW News recently featured Ursula Jongebloed and Prof. Becky Alexander’s research, which shows that volcanoes can emit high amounts of their atmosphere- and climate-changing gases in their quieter phases.
